Your Journalism teacher will discover your EnJournalism level and if necessary, for the first two classes concentrate on the following:

BASIC JOURALISM MISTAKES

To learn Journalism you must speak English well. We begin there. So, in the begriming you'll be tested on your ability to correctly pronounce the following English sounds:

  • TH sound such as They, Them, Those, The, That, etc.
  • L sound at the begriming or inside a word such as , Little, Love, Let, Sleep, Pool, Fool, etc.
  • R sound such a Ready, Vibrate, Store, Fork, Bird, Cart, Where, etc.
  • Pronunciation of the last letter of most English words such as About. Mistakes on this word in massive and makes it difficult to understand the speaker.

Each slight mistake ads to the total or difficult understanding of the speaker. That's why it's critically important for your teacher to test your ability to for each letter of the alphabet and the more difficult letter sounds before you move forward. Granted, some students may have already mastered these beginner issues but over 90% of people needing English lessons, even advanced English students, suffer from this problem, even Americans. Many believe the alphabet is for children and they skit mastering it. If you begin your lessons with errors, the will only multiply as your English class attempts to progress. It's crucial that your teacher correct any pronunciation mistakes or they will be with you forever.

As you become more relaxed, your teacher will engage you in the following exercises:

  • Use English to better introduce yourself
  • Describing how you are feeling
  • Asking simple questions
  • Talk about your friends and family, and describe their personalities
  • Talking about school, work and things you want to do
  • Talk about what you do and what you don't
